T-minus 40 hours...

Wedding craziness has begun! I'm at my parents' (luckily for you, my room is also the office now, so I can blog at 1:30 am without disturbing anyone). Last night and today we finished up the last-minute touches (assembling programs, burning CDs which will be favors at the rehearsal dinner, etc.). We all went to Mom's manicure place in West Plains this afternoon and got our nails done. Dani and the bridesmaids all got french tips on our fingernails and red toenails, for those of you who might be interested in that sort of thing. The first big wave of family arrived today; mainly my aunts and cousins on my Mom's side. Jobs get done a lot faster with thirteen Woodson females working!

Tomorrow morning we're headed down to the Opera House (reception site) to decorate. It shouldn't take too long b/c it looks so cool already that we're really just putting stuff on the tables. The rehearsal is here at the house tomorrow night at five; then the rehearsal dinner is at a mill/resort out in the country (yes, even farther out in the country than we are). We only invited family to the rehearsal dinner. Fifty people are coming!

Well, I'm boring myself to sleep; it's hard to relate the fun/craziness in the written word at 1:30 in the morning. I'll have pictures to post soon; although I may not get to it til Saturday.

As promised...

Pictures from the shower last week:

A green Fiesta serving dish!

Fulfilling my secretarial duties as maid of honor (don't worry, I'm getting my hair cut this week!)

Irrational mini-rant

Target.com has been "currently unavailable for scheduled maintenance" for like three hours. What the h-word?? It better be way snappier when it's back up.

I'm probably the only person in the world who gets riled up about the Target website being down at 3:00 in the morning.

(But I needed the link to Dani's registry to put on the wedding site!! Gosh!)

3:03 am + dialup = blogging loopiness

Just a quick post to let everyone know that I (finally) did some more work on the wedding website! It's not totally finished; mostly b/c I need some input from Dani on some stuff. Also, I'm at my parents' house (It seems like they're the last people on the earth with dialup), so I'm waiting to upload more pictures til I'm back home ridin' the broadband.

Oh, my first week of summer school was great; you're so kind to ask. I learned more in my first week of Drawing II than I did in an entire semester of Drawing I. My professor actually explains a technique, demonstrates it, then lets us practice it as he walks around the room, sharing constructive criticism! It's a revolutionary concept! He's actually teaching!! I also will survive my PE class. The professor is really nice, and I don't think she's going to torture us or anything.

Anyway, I'm back in the H.C. (um, Howell County) for Dani's wedding shower tonight. It was fun; lots of talkative females and great food. She got tons of cool stuff; mostly for her kitchen. Look! I had my dear friend Amanda take pictures for me with my new camera:

Forget the pictures. I forgot it would take 3 hours to upload 3 pictures. I'll post them Sunday. Sorry to get your hopes up. In the meantime, go check out the wedding website.

What happened in May?

So I've taken some heat for not posting since MAY TENTH. I suppose it is time I updated my faithful readers who have had nothing to read for almost a month.

Well, the free iPod check did indeed clear! BUT after much consideration and shopping around, I decided I would use a digital camera more than an iPod, especially considering how many weddings there are this summer. SO, I bought a Canon Powershot A400. It's just a basic little 3.0 megapixel camera, but it takes nice snapshots, and if I fool with it, I can get it to do some artsy stuff. Plus, you all won't have to look at fuzzy cameraphone pics anymore!

I've also been busy getting settled into my new one bedroom apt. Actually, it was more like I procrastinated for about five days, then actually worked for two days. But, I'm mostly unpacked. My bedroom is still an unorganized mess, but the "public" portion of my apt. is presentable. Maybe I'll post pics one of these days.

Summer school starts Monday and I'll be taking two classes: Drawing II is from 10:30-2:30, Mon-Thurs; PED 100 (Fitness for Life, or something) is from 6:00-8:50 pm, Mon-Wed. BUT all that will only last for four weeks, so I think I can survive. I'm actually excited about going back to class. Maybe I actually am some sort of sicko who will go to school for the rest of my life. (Actually, I'm not. I think I've finally realized that the sooner I finish school, the sooner I will have a job, and therefore be making money!)

The wedding planning is going fairly well (only 22 days left!); although I feel like I'm falling behind on my duties. (In case any strangers are reading this, I'm the maid of honor in my sister's wedding on July 1). Here's my wedding to-do list:

- Finish the website (Ummm I won't post the link here, but if you got an invite, it's on the little card that mentions the alternate location in case of bad weather. If you didn't get an invite, email me and I'll send you the link.)
- Make my bouquet (All the flowers are made of beads; see examples here.)
- Download the songs for a CD to give out at the rehearsal dinner and start burning the CDs
- Get a tan. (I've had several bad experiences with fake self-tanner this spring/summer. I am actually streaky right now. I follow the directions perfectly; I've read everything on the the internet about it that I can find, and I still get all splotchy and streaky. I guess I'm gonna have to go the tanning bed; I don't know if I'll have time to lay by the pool every day.)
- Find something to wear to the shower on the 16th and the rehearsal (My Aunt Jonna from California is getting me an outfit for the rehearsal, but I need a backup). I also need to find shoes to wear before the ceremony and to the reception (we're going barefoot in the actual ceremony. yeehaw.)

OK, there's probably some other things I need to do, but I'm starting to get freaked out by making that list. I gotta get to work...
